Kathie Beltz, 2022 QuiltFest Lecturer

Kathie Belz is totally addicted to quilting and enjoys associating with other quilters who are equally addicted. She has been quilting since 1995, teaching since 2004, and judging quilts since 2007. She concentrates on machine piecing and quilting, and is always trying new techniques, gadgets and patterns. Kathie loves quilting because it is her therapy. Time for herself in her sewing room is her favorite thing. On the flip side, she also loves the socialization involved in quilt guilds, quilt shows, and quilting retreats. She tries to attend quilt retreats twice a year to experience the joy of having uninterrupted sewing time. Kathie has extensive judging experience. Her judging philosophy is to acknowledge excellence in quilting and to educate and encourage quilters of all skill levels. She considers her judging work to be an extension of her teaching--guiding quilters to improve their skills through constructive comments.
