Joyce Blowers, 2022 QuiltFest Teacher
Joyce
Blowers
started
sewing
as
a
teenager
and
quickly
began
making
her
own
clothes.
In
the
1980’s
her
sewing
interests
turned
to
quilting,
first
hand
quilting,
then
machine
quilting
on
her
domestic
machine.
In
2005
she
began
longarm
quilting
and
in
2009
became
a
Nolting
Longarm
dealer.
When
Nolting
released
Quiltmagine,
its
robotic
system
for
Nolting
stitch
regulated
machines,
Joyce
was
the
first
to
order
a
system.
She
loves
the
precision
of
computer
guided
quilting
along
with
the
challenge
of
thinking out of the “block” utilizing the many features in Quiltmagine.
Joyce
has
spent
her
adult
life
teaching.
Formerly
a
high
school
science
teacher,
she
now
devotes
time
to
helping
quilters
have
a
“delightful”
quilting
experience
by
teaching
the
basics
and
beyond
of
longarm
and
computer
guided
quilting.
She
believes
that
hands-on
learning
is
best,
and
that
exploration
and
playing
foster
confidence
and
creativity.
