About Quilt Appraisals Did   you   know   that   if   anything   happens   to   your   quilt,   newly   made   or   antique,   without   an   appraisal,   the   insurance   company may   give   you   only   the   replacement   cost   of   a   blanket   (about   $50)?     The   quilt   you   make   is   worth   more   than   the   fabrics   in   it.     To replace it, you would have to purchase one of similar like and kind, or pay someone to make another. Have   your   quilt   appraised   for   $55.00   -   about   the   price   of   a   “blanket.”      The   quilt   evaluation,   which   takes   about   a   half   hour, derives   information   about   your   quilt   -   pattern   name,   maker   (if   known),   date,   fabrics   in   it,   a   detailed   description,   condition, etc.      Linda   will   conduct   research,   assign   a   value,   write   the   appraisal,   which   you   can   file   with   your   other   important   papers, and mait it to you within 30 days of the evaluation.
